Jan Horvath was honored to be a part of the original Broadway company of Hal Prince's The Phantom of the Opera where she performed the roles of Christine & Carlotta. Other Broadway credits include The Threepenny Opera starring Sting, Sweet Charity directed by Bob Fosse, Oliver!, and Stardust. She also starred as Grizabella in the National Touring Company of Cats. Off Broadway credits include Yoko Ono’s New York Rock, the revised version of Chess, and Jacques Brel is… She starred in Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years at the Arizona Music Fest and was featured in The Bernstein Mass at the Vatican, at Carnegie Hall and with the Dallas Symphony.
Jan has been a guest soloist with over a hundred and thirty orchestras including Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic (Tel Aviv), National Symphony Orchestra, NY Pops, Boston Pops, Minnesota Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Syracuse Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Utah Symphony, Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic, Shanghai Radio Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic, International Music Festival in Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic and the Philharmonica Orchestra Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Italy. She has worked with such legendary talents as Keith Lockhart, Marvin Hamlisch, Doc Severinsen, Erich Kunzel, Michael Krajewski, Richard Hayman, Skitch Henderson and Marin Alsop.
Jan has also been featured on many CDs, including the cast albums of Sweet Charity and New York Rock, The Musicality of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Chicago and All That Jazz, Simply Musicals, Bravo Broadway, and The Three Broadway Divas. In 2007 Jan released her first solo CD entitled Never Too Late featuring all original compositions. She has sung her material with many orchestras including the Cincinnati Pops and Rochester Philharmonic.
Ms. Horvath currently runs her own private vocal studio in New York City. She is a proud graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
